Location Highlights
Fort Lauderdale offers direct access to Atlantic beaches and an extensive boating network through the Intracoastal Waterway and the New River. Hugh Taylor Birch State Park sits between the beach and the city center, and Las Olas Boulevard provides dining, galleries, and shopping about 10 minutes from much of downtown. The city is about 30 miles north of Miami and is served by Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and the Brightline station, which supports regional travel across South Florida.
